This Walmart decision sucks the big one, however I'll judge the new album on it's musical merits, I'm not blind to the fact that he's capable of sometimes being a bit pants; Devils and Dust is mostly tuneless durge and I still don't own a copy of human touch. |

| Jason1978 writes: While i'm not sure why anyone decides to sell their album in just one store (AC/DC, Eagles - Wal-Mart only, Guns N Roses Best Buy) it's not like Bruce's cds haven't been sold in Wal-Mart for years. You can even get the Born To Run box set there.
I also find the whole sell-out stuff to always been silly. Some feel a sell-out is when a artist changes their sound, some feel it is when an artist gets too big. Personally if ever there was a time Bruce could be considered a sell-out it was Born In The USA and ever since. Bruce is a filth rich rock star folks but he's a good human being, he cares about many good causes, the state of our country and most of all his fans. Releasing a cd at Wal-Mart isn't the end of the world (and consider if this were released elsewhere it probably would cost more too). |

| Boyfromthecasino writes: Please, as I've stated in a few threads.... if you want to come to DC to see the anticipated show on the 18th, THERE ARE PLENTY OF ROOMS AVAILABLE! If you want to stay for the inaugural (Tuesday) it gets more expensive but prices for Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th are crashing. Example, stay in Alexandria, VA at a Marriott Courtyard near Metro for $119 per night.
A little closer in, Arlington, VA is $169 per. Sure downtown DC is still special event expesive but I will say that in the last 24 hours the veneralble Mayflower hotel has dropped their price from $1000 per night on Saturday or Sunday to $549 .... yeah still very pricy but consider the percentage drop in price! If you only want to come to DC for the show .... PLEASE COME! I might suggest booking now, prior to the announcement, especially if it ends up being w/ the ESB, just review the cancellation policy, make sure you can cancel up to 24 or 48 hours as opposed to a special event policy which might be 7 days advance notice to cxl. I'll shill for my company and tell you to go to Marriott.com but certainly feel free to check other sites as well. |

It's exciting to find that Bruce's music has so many different faces. I wouldn't have the same feelings for the whole life. Every moment needs something different, I think. I'm proud to have known someone who has the power to make me cry with Jungleland, or Racing In The street, and to have known someone who will have the same power to make me cry with Outlaw Pete, The wrestler or The Last Carnival! That's all! Life has to be lived with great passions. Without them it would be a very hard, furious, frustrated existence. A big italian hug to all of you, and see you on the road! Forever! song no.5 . thoughts are mixed , . . outlew pete for me was mooving , i waited a long time for a 7-8 min. song , and pete seems good , changing , progressing . these kind of songs are my favorites . very thick background ..everything . i find it very beatiful but at the same time the whole thing sounds like all the instruments are as one , cannot set apart strings from organs , guitars , violins .. and everything is like a blaket over the drums . . the sax is very clear though , rises over everything , song no. 9 . good eye rocks hard .i like it when you can hear bruce screams a song , the ending is a blast song no.10 i really liked magic when it came out i hope i'll enjoy this one as a complete good albom and not as some new good songs in a midiocre albom . song no 1 . again i dont like bonus tracks that start right after the last song . it changes everything , cause the Wrestler actually is the last song and not the last carnival outlew pete!!!!! can you hear me ??!!! the iLSTER i will buy the albom and when i think of it ,this stealing thing only robs me from the exitment when i buy it . |

| Charlie writes: Bruce certainly won't keep rocking if he decides to run over time at Glastonbury - nor will he be keeping another band waiting. Glastonbury headliners are always the last act on the main stage and council regulations mean that the festival will pull the plug on him at the allotted time as they are scared that they won't be able to get a license the following year. And they will also be fined. Bruce will rip it up in 90 minutes, anyway. As far as I'm concerned, getting Bruce, if they do, will be the first time that Glastonbury has managed to attract a global superstar (Jay Z fans might argue that fact, and fair enough). In the main, we always get bands who are massive in the UK and Europe but not quite as big in America (Radiohead, Coldplay etc). Don't worry about the youngsters enjoying it. There's always a good crowd at Glasto for the headliners and they tend to get off on whoever is there. Personally, I think Bruce will knock them for six, anyway. |

| Jesper writes: Herning is situated in Jutland (the part of Denmark that is actually physically connected with Europe). Herning is a rather small town (by non-Danish measures). Ten years ago all concerts with the really big names were held in Copenhagen (our capital), but over the last years a lot of the ?dinosaurs? have paid Jutland a visit. This goes for Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and Madonna among others.
I have not attended a concert in Herning, but I have heard that place itself should be just fine. I do not know the size of the venue. However, since Herning is rather small compared to Copenhagen, the crowd might differ from the usual crowd at a Danish Springsteen concert. Copenhagen is simply extremely gifted when it comes to attracting bands to its music scene (rock, indie, folk, blues, electronica? anything), which Herning is most definitely not. Therefore I think that the people, who show up in Herning, on average, will not have the same experience in attending concerts. If this holds true, the concert will most likely differ from the concerts he has given in Copenhagen over the years? which is not necessarily a bad thing because, to be honest, Bruce really hasn?t been able to rock more than the front 10-12 rows the last two times I have seen him in Copenhagen. I suspect, that could be the reason why he chose Herning over Copenhagen this time? |

| Don Falch writes: An early version of Linda Let Me Be the One from '75 has a theme that sounds exactly like the melody of a classic Danish popsong called Papirsklip by Kim Larsen, released in '83. (The theme is not on the Tracks-version of Linda... Bruce plays it on the piano on the "Wings for Wheels" DVD)
Watch and listen to papirsklip here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRlSn3pjkF4 Kim Larsen doesn't like Springsteen and it's very unlikely he ever listened to a bootleg by Bruce. Yet the similarity is remarkable. The point is: It happens all the time. I'm a songwriter myself, and I've written songs, only to discover one day, that my song sounds a lot like somebody elses. Sometimes people have the same ideas. I really don't think Bruce had Kiss in mind when he wrote Outlaw Pete. I think Bruce would actually like to keep Kiss out of his mind for as long as possible... |

It probably exists in thousands of musical compositions from the last 400 years. In addition: - The chords are different - The tempo is different - It's in the verse, Kiss has it in the chorus - The rhythm is different - The sound is different - The lyrics are different |

I just pointed out, that it's nice to see, that he isn't afraid to admit a mistake, if he agrees that it is/was a mistake. |
| David writes: This is pointless, like it has been said, these are very common chord progressions and it is very normal to hear similar songs in pop music , it happens all the time . Did Bruce take Bon Jovi to court for Born to be my baby?, which sounds too much like The river . I really don't know where the border lies in these cases . Tom Petty I think took the Red hot chillies for Danny California being a rip off from Mary Janes's last dance , which Tom Petty copied from the Jayhawks Waiting for the sun, oh Tom the irony ;-) |
