aint a beauty writes: no premiers - but first night awesome set list and a sense of there being something in the air - night two was the BEST show I have ever seen - the atmosphere was explosive, the exuberance of the band - they were as if back in Wembley in 85 - Bruce doing knee slides, drinking someone from the audience's beer and running around like a kid - it was just superb
Stevie writes: Was at the 2nd night in Dublin the best show I have ever seen in my life, Bruce and the band were great full of energy, fun and passion great setlist great crowd
Mark Shanahan writes: the first night was incredible, but somehow they topped it on the friday. the greatest show i've ever seen, by the greatest rock n' roll performers in the history of the medium.
Jim Page writes: Last night (Sunday)Bruce & the Band even surpassed their own high standards - a truly incredible show in every sense of the word. Having had the pleasure of seeing shows since 1981 - this is at the top of tree. Brilliant!!!
steve writes: was at sunday show. couldn't believe Bruce's energy. it was unstoppable! steve van zandt was uber cool. second encore was a real surprise with the show finishing on Glory Days. best show ever.
Ciar?n Hapin writes: Friday was awesome a knee slide. And karaoke at a Springsteen gig Brill show. Wat time is it BOSS TIME
Bono writes: It is a success already.

Simply, because I say so.

See you in Asbury Park, next year!
Jennifer writes: First time seeing Bruce live - most amazing experience!!! The man and the band are truly Rock n'Roll royalty - no wonder Bono and The Edge were in the audience - the apprentices learning from the master. This music was especially poignant for me having lived in NJ for 12 years before returning to Ireland. What an honour to experience this amazing band and relive a great time in my life through his music! Thank you!
David Stafford writes: Sunday in Dublin was not a concert, it was an happening. The Boss and crowd were as one. You could feel it from the first strains of No Surrender right up to the climax of Glory Days. I keep asking my wife were we really there? You bet we were!
Neil Schofield writes: We went to the first show at the Emirates in London, and you are not wrong! What a fantastic show, the band just get better and better. The setlist was amazing, and the encores just didn't stop. We loved every minute, have our tickets ready for Cardiff and we will be there hoping for another extraordinary night!!
Gary Moss writes: Went to the first London show with a friend, who had travelled from Chester. He commented on how great the Manchester show was, but was blow away by the Emirates show. As was I. Bruce and the band are simply getting better. This was awesome, edge of the seat stuff and a great set list. I can't wait for the Cardiff shows, but I also can't wait for the next album, the next tour, and the ones after that. I thought that this lot had had their day after the reunion tour (the Crystal Palace shows weren't great) but how wrong can you be?
Monkey Hanger from Hartlepool writes: We went to the first show at Emirates and the poor sound quality ruined the first half of the show. As dusk fell sound improved and the encores were great. As a big fan I was really looking forward to seeing Bruce & The E Street Band and felt disappointed after havins travelled so far and spent so much money. Word of advice - make sure you are always get tickets for the pitch at a stadium show!
Knud Flensted, Copenhagen writes: Bruce better brings Patti to Europe for the next leg, else we will miss her. Anyway - can't wait.
Paul South Wales UK writes: I was lucky to take in all 6 shows and I can't believe the amount of different songs I have heard, 43 alone in the 3 shows in Dublin. He just keeps getting better I am looking forward to the Cardiff show and hope that he will pull out all the stops with myself being Welsh and his first show ever in Wales.
sean in kent writes: saw second show at emirates great night. best live act going but the sound was bad.. cant wait for cardiff show hope sound better
Kim writes: I was at the first show at the Emirates Stadium.Bruce and the band were amazing. Loving it! A friend came with me who was not a great fan before, but is now hooked. Have to agree though that the sound quality in first half of the show was pretty poor.
Brian Shirra writes: Sunday night in Dublin was the experience of a lifetime-just awesome.I thought it would never end.The energy the man has, he just never stopped.
Geraint writes: Klaus is right. 'Everybody's on the run' appeared in Born to Run, so equally this could have a claim to be an early version of Born to Run.

And BTR was his third, not his debut, album.

Saw him last in Harare on the Amnestsy International tour. What a show, worth every cent and second getting there. When will Bruce play in SA if ever???
Angie from Scotland writes: My friend and I travelled down to Manchester for the show on 28th May. What a great show and the energy Bruce has running and jumping about the stage.Bruce keeps getting better, thats why he is the boss.
Gareth (ex South Africa - now UK) writes: wow Peter wow! I have moved from SA to the UK two months ago. I almost saw him in Harare (passport did not arrive in time - I was only 16!).Now I have tickets to Cardiff tomorrow. A 20 year wait is about to bear fruit!

It was the best concert I have ever seen and the songs in my head just won't stop! If you haven't been yet , just go...x
clsscrckr91 writes: I'm kinda hoping that he ends on August 2nd. I won't be able to get any more tickets for this tour.

God, that sounded so self centered. I don't mean it that way.
Natalie (UK) writes: I was to young to see the original Born in the USA tour back in the 80's and never thought I would get the chance to see Bruce perform with the E Street Band. I went to the Cardiff show last night and fell in love with Bruce all over again. His energy was contagious, the range of songs fantastic and his voice incredible. It was by far the best gig I have ever seen and I am now searching for flights to try and catch another show in Europe befores he heads back to the states.
Guide writes: Cardiff was great.

I particularly liked the first song: 'From Small Things, Big things One Day Come. Because of Dave Edmunds, Wales (grrreat!!!). And because it is so true.

Sound was good, despite restrictions. Got Louder in the end, though.

And Bruce played 'Atlantic City'' a personal favourite of mine.

Jungleland (Clarence!) was the best.

Heard that 'Land of Hope and Dreams' was played during the soundcheck.

Would be awfully nice (historically seen) if he played that song in Amsterdam. Because Hollan IS the Land of Hope and Dreams!!! (I.e. where the Founding Fathers set sail to America, to the other land of hope and dreams)

Good night, and thank you.

Ps: Cheers to the lady from Greasy Lake I met in Cardiff: we had a short, but very decisive talk: "Bruce Springsteen IS Bruce Springsteen." No two ways about it.
Bill Lane writes: I have seen 1 show this tour in Phila on 10-5-07. I am GLAD Bruce is NOT saying this is the last ESB tour, even though it may be true. Would YOU want to know for sure this is the last ESB show you were going to see? Not me... After the fact is MUCH better then knowing beforehand. Magic didn't knock me over anyway...

I was told that a company there provided all the lights and sound systems for Bruce tours and that Bruce had become good friends with the company's owners. No idea if this is true but (given that Lancaster is close to Hershey) it's a possible explaination of why the show is happening.

The whole of Hershey smells of chocolate as the chocolate company is based there - there are worse places to visit!

My parents were alsoway interested and involved in the politics of our Country. I knew Tim was a huge Bruce and the E Street Band fan and I assume that my reaction was that a part of "my community" died. For Bruce to have taken the time out of his busy day to honor Tim speaks volumes about both men.
Al S writes: Saw him make that comment, "Oughta do a whole tour of amusements parks - it just feels right!" @ Darien Lake on The Rising tour.

I'm from So. Buffalo, and live just 2 blocks from where Tim Russert grew up, our whole community is mourning. Tim brought respectibity to our little corner of the world. To know that someone who came from where we came from and he was able to accomplish the things he did, he challenged world leaders, and never forgot where he came from.
I think he was what Bruce is with music. Down to earth people who do great things, but don't forget their roots. That's why we love both Bruce and Tim Russert.

Hoping to see him again anytime this summer/fall back in Toronto (this time at the skydome; (again);( now Roger's Centre), under the stars,; it was my most memorable, in the front row during the encore; had eye contact with Steven; Bruce sang & danced in the dark to my right, as I did, to his left, calling his name in vain! Hope to see Bruce & the band soon! Love, Joanne
Mike writes: Remember Bruce: "Blind faith in your leaders will get you killed". This is why you can't sell out shows even in NJ. You support candidates who want the government to impose its will on its citizens. Not only that, the reasons you are against candidates is often without merit. Remember, you are free to pay more taxes. Just make a check out to the U.S. Treasury. Finally, good job being against U.S. foreign policy after it was fashionable to be against it. You really went out on a limb on that one.
MB writes: So sad to see how far he's fallen. If you concentrated more on music and less on politics, you'd be able to sell out a 50,000 seat stadium instead of playing these small towns.
A Bruce fan in Philly writes: It's kind of sad that Bruce isn't playing Philly. He's doing stadium shows in NJ and Foxboro but none in Philly. I'm not sure why. He sold out 2 shows here in 2003. The third was nearly sold out. Don't forget about us Bruce!!!!
Scott writes: Mike, how sad that the message of easily half of Springsteen's body of work has drifted lazily beyond your powers of understanding. Blind faith is what we have been experiencing for the last 7+ years, and as Bruce accurately predicted it has not been pretty. Bruce is standing up for our Constitution, for the individual against the corporate machine and many of the progressive ideals of liberty and citizen responsibility upon which this nation was founded. God bless him for doing so. BTW, when US foreign policy is is set by a lying, treasonous bastard like george bush it is not exactly hard to be in the majority and speaking out against it. 77% of the country believe the current occupants of the Executive branch are not worthy of the positions that they hold and they are right.
Larry writes: Hey Mike. I can tell you're a big fan, since you're so knowledgeable about what Bruce is doing and even thinking. You know when he decided our foreign policy was flawed, as well as why he has supported various candidates. As for his ability to write a check to the treasury, you seem to have overlooked his remarkable charitable contributions over the years, which just may be his way of directly helping an issue. As for your quoted remark, it sounds like a death threat, and perhaps the folks at homeland security need to tap your phone, and read your email, since you may well be a terrorist.
paul writes: see this is the problem you're all talking about this crap instead of music - that's where politicasl fervor can cloud rock and roll concerts

Madam Marie writes: and on a lighter note...when I met Bruce I called him Bruce. What's this you've got to call him Boss???? ;D
Mark writes: Mike obviously doesn't believe in the right to free speech!!! Bruce has an opinion and like the rest of us, he has the right to voice it....i for one agree with his endorsement of obama.
Ed writes: I agree with Mike. After being subjected to his sermons on the Rising tour, I'll never pay to see him again.

Christian writes: Hi,
The E Street Band has arrived in Gothenburg! It?s all over the news in Sweden. Bruce, Patti and Nils will arrive on friday, it is reported. Was out eating this evening and met Little Steven. He gave us "All Areas Access" backstage passes to a special 4th of July party which will take place at the Hard Rock Caf? after the show. All of the band will be there, he said. This can turn out to be something special. Will bring my camera and promise to send some photos if Bruce and the band shows up.
Mike writes: Larry: I can tell you're not a fan because "blind faith in your leaders will get you killed" was something Bruce said before he performed "War" on Live 75-85. It was his comment, not mine. Now he has blind faith so his words are coming back to haunt him.
Mike writes: Scott: Bruce didn't "accurately predict" anything. After public opinion for the war turned negative, Bruce jumped in and began to speak negative about the war. That's not predicting, that's agreeing with others' opinions. Replacing blind faith in Bush with blind faith in Obama doesn't make things better. Instead of lying behind our backs, countries will be lying right to Obama's face as he breaks bread with every ruthless dictator and U.S. enemy. They'll tell Obama what he wants to hear then do the opposite behind closed doors.
the iLSTER writes: i dont know how much monney it will raise , . .
it wont take long untill the songs will float all around the free net .
Dan writes: Any body who thinks the country has been practicing blind faith in our leaders for the last 7 years is not listening to the world around them. I don't know of more than a handful of people who had faith at all in George Bush leading this country in a productive manner. This includes Republicans as well as Democrats. The problem was that the other choices (Gore, Kerry) were eaually inept. Rather than stating America has exhibited blind faith in our leader, I would state that we are very close to rightfully having no faith at all in the leadership of this country.
McWilliams. writes: A tragic Loss for all of us.
radio_now_here writes: so why exactly is this bad news for collectors?
Joe writes: Historically, Bruce like most in the entertainment industry are librial and anti-war dating back to the 70's. At least he's consistent in his politics and his great music. I can enjoy his music and still not take every lyric to heart. Sometimes it's more about the music than the message, although most of the messages nail it.
Karsten writes: Just thinking that it can't be all that interesting to be a collector when what used to be released as singles or EP's will now only be available for download. It takes away some of the charm of collecting, but I guess nothing stays the same.
Colie Brice writes: Seems like there's a lot missing from the past several years. http://asburymusician.com

Timmy Petersson writes: I really agree with you about the Magic songs. Feels a little strange considering the fact that before the album's release they talked about how good the songs were going to be live. I really would've liked to hear "You'll Be Comin' Down".
jjazznola writes: I totally disagree. Everytime they did Magic, Gypsy Biker or Devil's Arcade, it was hit the bathrooms. And that was in arenas. Stadium shows are different. Play the hits! I do wonder why they droped Reason To Believe. I would much rather hear that then Last To Die. I do love hearing Long Walk Home though.
Jake writes: Fortunately in Helsinki he played no less than six songs from Magic, an album that already has a classic title among many fans. Last to die is on par with any Bitusa song, Long walk home and I?ll work for you love are instant classics also and Radio nowhere is a nice catchy pop-rock-tune we haven?t heard too much from Bruce recently. Magic songs fit perfectly with his earlier material and this tour proved that every night.
Ben writes: I attended shows in Cardiff and Manchester and the Magic songs went down very well with the crowd. Agree with Jake that you couldn't see the 'joins' or any disparity between the new stuff and the older material. Sadly we didn't get to hear 'Girls in their summer clothes' which is a classic.
Denise Martinez writes: I started going to B Street Band concerts when they were Backstreets, a good 20 years ago. Recently saw them again at Yonkers Raceway, and although some of the original members were no longer there (RIP Chip), they are just as good now as they were then. I joked that I used to have to get a babysitter for my kids who are now 33 and 30!! Don't miss them if you have the opportunity to catch their show. Excellent Bruce music!!
Alex writes: Some fans have been following Bruce's career for decades and for them listening to the old hits is special, emotionally, compared to Magic songs. But I was in Barcelona the two nights and the Magic songs were still sung by the audience. The barcelona audience is simply amazing - the next member of the E-Street Band (and I am not spanish).
neil welchj writes: Really missed Gypsy Biker in the later European shows
The boss writes: anyone know anything about this? website looks like the whole thing is in one building and the price of tickets seem more like a rip off. "The Bruce cinema is located in the Springsteen Shopping Mall". something tells me this is just a regular cinema in a nearby shopping centre that will have a bruce showing that day... if there was a street of pubs with various springsteen tribute bands on, then it'd be good, but going all the way to rotterdam to spend in a small venue not even big enough to have a decent website or classified as a hotel..anyone been to the convention last year? "more information will be sent to you when youve made the reservation" - translated - once you paid your 85 euro, we'll tell you whats really going on. the convention is not advertised anywhere else on the web or couldnt find reviews of last year, so im thinking this is a mickey mouse event????there are 10 lineups over 2 days, and only some of them appear to be bruce springsteen cover bands.
Roulettehop writes: If you took time to look at the website of the convention you can find all the info you are looking for. The convention is held in three separate venues: restaurant (which can hold up to a 100 people) a party room (which can hold up to 200 peopl where a stage is for akoestic performances and other activities) and a conference centre with four conference rooms of which one will be turned into a cinema, the other three will house various shops and dealers. The three venues will be connected to form one Convention-venue with a large spektakulair circustent. In the cicustent which can easily hold up to 500 people there will be a big stage on which various bands will perform.
The convention is listed on the website of Steelmill Retro of Vini 'Mad Dog' Lopez who will perform for the first time in Europr. There are several acts from various countries like Spain, Italy, England obviously not all of them tribute acts (two of them are) because it would be tiring and boring to hear the seventh version of 'Born To Run'. Mark Wright and Graziano Romano are quality acts, talented singer/songwriters who have definitely also made a name in the Springsteen community.
There will be various videofilms showing especiallyy compiled and ditted for the convention.
Obviously you can't please everybody but without reading things properly and start critizing a thing that hasn't happened yet with assumptions is. Why didn't you send an e-mail to the organization with those questions to verify your assumptions instead of stating "seems more like a rip off","something tells me", 'So I am thinking this is a mickey mouse event'. People are working hard to make this a unique event that is being held for the first time. Making all kinds of assumptions without facts to back it up and thereby trying to give the Convention a bad rep even before it's held sounds like such a negative and pointless thing to do that maybe there is some alterior motive involved
