Bruce inducts Jackson Browne into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.

A more and more politically vocal Bruce participates in the Vote For Change Tour. The tour, which happens not the least because of Bruce's initiative, is part of the campaign to put the Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry in the White House. Along with the E Street Band, John Fogerty, REM and others, he performs six shows in the so-called swing states and one in New Jersey just for the heck of it.

Not satisfied with only doing the Vote For Change Tour, Bruce joins John Kerry's campaign on the road and speaks and performs acoustically at political rallies in Madison, Wisconsin, and Columbus, Ohio. Two days later he makes repeat appearances in Miami, Florida.
December 2 2004
Bruce joins Joe Grushecky and others for Flood Aid '04 in Pittsburgh, PA. The show benefits flood victims of the September floods in Western Pennsylvania.
April 4 2005
Bruce records a show for VH1 Storytellers at the Two River Theater in Red Bank. The show consists of Bruce singing a few selected songs and talking about them to an invited audience. After the show the audience is allowed to ask questions.

The Devils & Dust Tour opens with two rehearsal shows in Asbury Park. The tour is solo and acoustic, but unlike the Ghost of Tom Joad Tour 10 years prior, this one has a very flexible setlist and Bruce experimenting with different instruments. He also plays bigger venues. 10-15,000 people per show is not unusual.

Devils & Dust is released worldwide to mostly critical acclaim.

The Devils & Dust Tour hits the European shores.
Summer-Fall 2005
The tour continues in the US and Canada with more and more experimenting on Bruce's part. He plays everything from ukulele to electric harp.

After months of rumors and speculations the Born to Run 30th Anniversary edition is released. Apart from the remastered album it contains a complete show on DVD from London in 1975.
