Bruce's releases a vinyl EP, American Beauty, for Record Store Day including three previously unreleased songs recorded with the E Street Band.

After a few months of hiatus, Bruce releases the long-awaited River box set, which apart from a copy of the original The River album includes a disc of River outtakes, an early, unreleased incarnation of The River album (named The Ties that Bind), three hours of the legendary Tempe 1980 show on DVD, a documentary, and a photo book.

On his birthday Bruce releases a new compilation album that is a companion to his upcoming autobiography. The album is called Chapter & Verse and includes previously unreleased tracks from as far back as The Castiles, Steel Mill and Bruce Springsteen Band days as well as well-known tracks from throughout his career.
