Several initiatives to help the hurricane victims in New Orleans and Mississippi have been launched in the online Springsteen communities. One of the more ambitious initiatives comes from Lee Miller of the rec.music.artists.springsteen newsgroup. In a collaboration with The Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans, he and his group will collect money and useful items among Springsteen fans and later travel to New Orleans to work in the local food kitchens.
