Proud moment for Bruce

Published 2008-11-05

Just as Barack Obama had finished his historic victory speech last night in Chicago and was leaving the stage with his family, the PA system blasted out "The Rising" to the assembled crowd of 200,000 people and billions of TV viewers. What a moment it must have been to Bruce.... not to mention Bruce's mom and kids. Bruce has done everything. Performed to crowds stretching as far as his eye could see, sold millions and millions of albums, played with the greatest legends, hung out with royals (and soon he'll even play at the Superbowl), but it's probably a pretty safe bet to say that last night was one of the greatest moments of his career and one that must inspire him to stay active and relevant for many years to come. Right now, however, he's probably preparing for tonight's benefit for the Bob Woodruff Family Foundation where he's scheduled to perform. My guess is that those of you with tickets will get to see a pretty giddy Boss. Congratulations, Bruce, congratulations, America, congratulations, World!
