Famous arena to be torn down

The Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey, is set for demolition in 2004 when it will be replaced by a brand new arena in Newark. The arena, which was first known as the Meadowlands Arena and later Brendan Byrne Arena, was built only 20 years ago and was opened by Bruce on July 2, 1981. He has since played 42 shows there - all sold out - for a combined total of more than a million people
