Commotion over soundboard recording
Published 2000-11-20
It's only been a couple of weeks since Joe Grushecky and Bruce rocked the Stone Pony in front of a ecstatic crowd, but already a recording of the show is causing quite a stir among fans as well as organizers. Allegedly, an employee at the Stone Pony managed to plug his recorder into the soundboard and thus ended up with what is said to be a flawless recording that is already circulating among fans. The incident has now made manager Bob Benjamin come forward with a pledge to present and future owners of the recording to make a donation to the subject of the benefit show, The Parkison Disease Foundation. Among other things Bob Benjamin writes: "If anyone gets this or other recordings of the show it would be greatly appreciated if they could see it in their heart to make a donation to the PDF. Parkinson's Disease is the reason this night came together and I hope no one loses sight of that as they replay the evening in their minds and/or on their stereos." Greasy Lake can only support the idea and encourage everyone to see if they can spare a few Dollars to the cause. Read Bob Benjamin's entire statement and see how you can make a donation here.
