He didn't win album of the year or any of the other categories as most observers had expected, but Bruce still got three Grammys for The Rising: Best rock album, Best rock song, and Best male rock vocal performance, the last two for the title track of the album. None of these categories were shown live on TV. In return, Bruce performed a blistering version of "London Calling" with Elvis Costello, Dave Grohl, and Little Steven, in a tribute to The Clash. Bruce and the E Street Band also took the stage for a version of "The Rising".
