Bruce sponsors cancer benefit

Bruce Springsteen, Shania Twain, Elton John and Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts have signed on as sponsors for an auction to benefit cancer patients. The seventh annual Kristen Ann Carr Fund Winter Semi-Formal will be held Feb. 26 at the 200 Fifth Club in New York. Among the items up for bid are a guitar autographed by Springsteen and artwork signed by Carlos Santana and Sarah McLachlan. Tickets are available online ( www.sarcoma.com ), but it is not known by us if Bruce will perform as well.
