Bruce rocks for the Ranney School
The annual benefit show for the Ranney School, which has one or more of Bruce's kids attending classes, took place last night at the Stone Pony. Concept was the same as always: only access for employees of the school, plus parents of students, and the parents even had to shell out big money to be there. But no doubt everybody in attendance felt they got their money's worth as Bruce delivered his usual three-hour show of high energy rock 'n' roll featuring both covers and originals. This time around Bruce for the first time included songs from The Promise. However, none that haven't already been played in other connections. As always, Bruce was joined by Southside Johnny for several songs, and Max Weinberg sat behind the drum kit. No reports of Patti Scialfa making her customary appearance. Altogether, not many details on who was on stage - although the band was probably the usual members of Bobby Bandiera's band - but we do know that photographer Danny Clinch was present taking pictures and even got on stage during "Spiriti in the Night".
