Bruce joined U2

Bruce and Patti joined U2 at the Irish band's Wachovia show last night in Philadelphia. During the encores Bono called for another guitar player and out walked Bruce. Together they did a wild version of "People Get Ready" that ended in an extended jam. Bruce first joined U2 in 1987, also in Philadelphia, and Bono and Bruce have inducted each other into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. Read more

Amazon.com has gained exclusive right to show a clip from the upcoming Hammersmith DVD that will be released with the Born to Run 30th Anniversary edition. The clip shows the title song in its entirety, and if it's anything to go by, fans have something to look forward to. As if we didn't already know! Rebroadcast of King Biscuit from 1973

For the first time in thirty years, the 1973 live perfomance of the Boss is going to air on the King Biscuit Flower Hour. You can listen to this event if you log on to KingBiscuit.com and find a local station. The performance was culled from Max's Kansas City, NYC in 1973. Uncut publishes another Bruce issue

British music magazine Uncut has done it again: released an awesome issue with Bruce on the cover. This time the issue deals with the Born to Run anniversary in a 12-page special. Included with the magazine is a CD with songs inspired by by Bruce with artists such as Cowboy Junkies, Tom Russell, John Hiatt, and Steve Wynn. Go grab it while you can. Read more
   

Bruce opened new leg with world premiere

The Red Cross benefit that kicked off the new leg of the Devils & Dust Tour last night in Asbury Park showed Bruce continue where he left off in August with a show full of surprises. He opened the show with a world premiere of "Idiot's Delight", a song he penned with Joe Grushecky. During the encores he pulled out the first "I Wanna Marry You" since 1996. It was also the first show on the tour not to include "The Hitter". instead "Galveston Bay" occupied the space just before "Matamoros Banks". Read more
   

Warm up benefit in Asbury Park

A warm-up show which will also serve as a benefit for the American Red Cross has been announced for October 4. The show will take place at the Paramount Theater in Asbury Park. Tickets will go on sale Friday at 9 AM at $100 each. Although it doesn't say this will probably be a solo acoustic show, but who knows if a guest or two might show up. Read more
   

Born to Run box set official!!

The Born to Run 30th Anniversary Edition has been officially announced by Sony. The box set will consist of a remastered version of the album and two DVDs. One with the Hammersmith show from November 18, 1975, and one with a documentary, Wings For Wheels, about the making of the album. Read the press release. Read more
   

Details about Born to Run box set seeping out

It could be a rumor or it could be fact. According to AOL Music, the Born to Run 30th Anniversary edition will include a 44 page, full color booklet of unpublished photos, a digitally remastered version of the CD, Live In London, a never before seen, complete two hour concert from the Born To Run tour that was shot by the BBC in November, 1975 at the Hammersmith Odeon, a second DVD with The Making Of Born To Run, which is supposedly a brand new documentary including new interviews with Bruce, the entire band and recording team, plus extensive archival photos, unreleased versions of songs and historic, previously unseen footage from the Springsteen vaults. As an added bonus, the set includes Bruce's historic 1973 performance from the CBS Records Convention in Los Angeles". The whole shebang is supposedly going to be released on November 15. Steel Mill releases an album

...Steel Mill Retro, that is. The band that includes original Steel Mill member and E Street drummer Vini Lopez has released its first album. It contains newly recorded versions of Steel Mill Springsteen penned classics such as "Goin' Back to Georgia", "The Wind and the Rain" and "KT88". Although he doesn't appear on the album Bruce Springsteen has condoned the band's activities and use of the name Steel Mill. You can buy the album only through Steel Mill Retro's official website.
