The famous Boss Club in Los Angeles is preparing a big party to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The party will take place on November 6 at Club Aura on 12215 Ventura Boulevard in Studio City, Los Angeles. Aside from lots of Bruce music on the speakers, the guests will get exclusive performances by John Eddie and the amazing cover band Bruce in the USA. The Boss Club started in Los Angeles 20 years ago (duh!) during the Born in the USA heydays with weekly parties for Bruce fans on the West Coast. It reemerged during the Reunion Tour and has since organized Bruce parties at irregular intervals. This 20th anniversary party promises to be one to remember. Vote For Change Tour ends in a blast

Published 2004-10-14

Two weeks after the kick-off the Vote For Change Tour ended last night at the Continental Airlines Arena in New Jersey. The lineup was different than earlier. Gone were Bright Eyes and REM. Instead Patti Scialfa and her band opened the show followed by Jackson Browne. Bruce guested with both of them before taking center-stage himself. That didn't go down quietly. The show was only 15 minutes old when Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam joined the fun and sang on "No Surrender", "Darkness" and the Pearl Jam song "Better Man". Jackson Browne helped out on the tour debut "Racing in the Street", and everybody were together on stage for the final encores.

From a musical point of view the fans have received the tour extremely well. Bruce and the band are still powerful as ever, and Bruce has apparently been overjoyed performing with the likes of John Fogerty, Michael Stipe and Eddie Vedder. Only concern has been Clarence Clemons who has been visibly hampered by a bad hip. Question is if this is a temporary condition or if his days on the road with the band are about numbered.

The political impact of the shows of course remains to be seen. The tour has received lots of press, not only in the cities and states where the shows took place, but nationally and internationally as well. And as the world waits for the result on November 2, fans of Bruce are already anxiously waiting for what he will be up to next. Read more

Bruce and the E Street Band kicked off their contribution to the Vote For Change tour with a blistering two-hour performance last night at the Wachovia Spectrum in Philadelphia. First Bruce joined Michael Stipe and REM for a duet on "Man on the Moon". After REM's set Bruce came on stage again and played a Jimi Hendrix style "Star Spangled Banner" on acoustic 12-string before the whole E Street Band entered and kicked into "Born in the USA". "Badlands", "No Surrender", "Lost in the Flood", full-band "Youngstown" and many other classics followed. John Fogerty joined Bruce for three of his own songs plus a duet on "The Promised Land". Tour fever rising

As fans start to gather outside the Wachovia Spectrum in Philadelphia for the first show of the Vote For Change Tour, speculations over what these shows will be like and what Bruce will play are going into overdrive. The last few days' rehearsals in Asbury Park did give us a clue that the performances will probably lean heavily on old war-horses like "Badlands" and "The Promised Land", but rarities such as "Lost in the Flood" and "Held Up Without a Gun" were also rehearsed. Not to mention a brand new song allegedly called "Trying to Survive". Needless to say the band also took several shots at various John Fogerty compositions as they will be backing the former Creedence lead-singer for his appearance. Greasy Lake will cover the shows to the best of our ability, but we rely on you to submit your eyewitness accounts, photos, etc. Don't forget you now submit and eyewitness account by going to the Magic in the Night section, finding the show you want to comment on, and opening the eyewitness account fill-out form. No, this wasn't a repeat of his legendary Roxy show from 1978. It was just Bruce who once again joined his Patti for her show.
