Bruce's 2005 album Devils & Dust is included on several lists of what was best in 2005. The title track was deemed the best song of 2005 by New York Times while Rolling Stone magazine has the album on its number 5 spot. If you're a fan of crime television series and of Bruce, January 8 will be a day to remember. The CBS series Cold Case will feature no less than nine Springsteen songs in the soundtrack including "Bobby Jean", "Drive All Night", and "No Surrender". To those of you who have no clue what Cold Case is, it's about a female detective specializing in solving murder cases that everyone else has given up on long ago. Read more

Bruce will spend part of January and February recording new music with various E Street Band members, according to a reliable source. Bruce allegedly wrote lots of new songs on the Devils & Dust Tour and is ready to try them out in the studio. If these preliminary recordings turn out well, more full-blown recording sessions can be expected to start soon after. When an album can be ready after that is too early to say, but judging from recent years it doesn't have to take all that long. Could be late spring or early summer, but it could also be in a year from now. Read more

As we mentioned a few weeks ago, the house that used to host the legendary Upstage Club is about to be torn down. But before that happens, last Sunday a group of the old regulars who used to frequent when Bruce was just a local guitar wiz, and a film crew, took a tour of the place and documented it with photos and video. The New Jersey senate has passed a resolution honoring Bruce Springsteen for his role as an ambassador for New Jersey. The resolution was sponsored by Senator Ray Lesniak in connection with the 30th anniversary of Born to Run. A few weeks ago a similar resolution was refused in the federal senate. Read more

The New York Guitar Festival 2006 is honoring Bruce Springsteen's 1982 Nebraska album with a free gala concert under the glass atrium of the World Financial Center Winter Garden, 220 Vesey Street, Saturday, January 14, at 8:00pm. Entitled The Nebraska Project, this 25th anniversary celebration of the classic Bruce Springsteen album features on one stage a distinctive roster of singer-songwriters, bands and instrumentalists. The Nebraska Project opens this year's New York Guitar Festival. Performing their own arrangements of one of the ten Nebraska songs are Laura Cantrell, Dan Zanes, Vernon Reid, Mark Eitzel, Michelle Shocked, Meshell Ndegeocello, The National, Chocolate Genius, Marc Ribot, Martha Wainwright, Jesse Harris, Kevn Kinney, Lenny Kaye, Gary Lucas and Harry Manx. AERIA Records has announced plans to release a compilation album of original New Jersey musical artists benefiting the New Jersey Music Hall of Fame. "Our intention is to release an album comprised of both established and upcoming artists that illustrates a contemporary snapshot of New Jersey?s ever evolving musical landscape, promote and distribute it nationally, and raise much needed funds for the New Jersey Music Hall of Fame," says Coleman R.
