You would think it was a little to late in the season for a trip to the beach on the Jersey Shore, but that's exactly where Bruce spent his Saturday. However, he wasn't there to relax and work on his tan. Along with him was a camera crew and probably more than 50 helpers. The purpose was a video shoot for "Girls in Their Summer Clothes" directed by Mark Pellington. Allegedly Bruce did all of his part yesterday, but it will no doubt require more shootings and tons of post production before we see a finished result. For now, you will have to settle for this picture showing Mark Pellington and actress Linda Citara doing their thing. Read more

Shows for 2008 are slowly but surely trickling in on the official website and local press around the country. Apart from St. Paul which was announced the other day, Anaheim (April 7), Atlanta (April 25) and Buffalo (March 7) look more or less official. Apart from that, strong rumors suggest a show in Milwaukee on March 17 and two shows in Dallas on March 26 and 27, just as there is a chance of an additional Anaheim show on April 8. Check out Ticketmaster for more information about ticket sale and venues and keep an eye on our tour page too. Read more

Bruce is not one to relax for long at a time. On a day off from the Magic Tour, Bruce took the stage at the Town Hall in New York City for a benefit billed "Stand Up For Heroes". Bruce's participation was announced a while ago so this was no surprise and plenty of Bruce fans were present. They witnessed a short musical performance by Bruce consisting of three acoustic songs: "This Hard Land", "Devil's Arcade" and "Thunder Road" plus a few assorted jokes. Another highlight was when Bruce pushed one of his old motorcycles on stage to be auctioned off. He even turned on the engine. The bike went for $85,000 all of which went to the Bob Woodruff Family Fund which you can read about here. Read more

I don't think we've ever seen that before: just as last night's show in St. Paul was finished a message ran across the electronic ticker display in the arena announcing a new show in St. Paul for March 16, 2008, with tickets going on sale November 10. If tihs is indeed true - and it's hard to believe they would do this if it wasn't - perhaps a whole new leg of North American shows is about to be announced for the spring. Where this leaves rumors of shows in Australia is hard to tell, but March is usually (if you can talk about "usual" in connection with Australian shows) the time of year Bruce chooses to go Downunder, but hopefully there will still be time for it all. This week has seen a lot of talk about Magic allegedly being banned from radio stations owned by Clear Channel, one of the most influential media corporations in the US. A note was, according to the rumor, distributed to all the stations informing them not to play tracks from Magic, whereas older classic Springsteen songs were OK. Speculations have circulated that it was either a political step due to Bruce's outspokenness on political matters or an unfair indication that Bruce's new music is irrelevant compared to his older songs. Clear Channel itself denies that they have directed any of their stations to refrain from playing songs from Magic and says that the rumor is just that: a rumor. Read more

In a repeat of his 1984 Halloween stunt, Bruce entered the stage at last night's show in Los Angeles in a coffin bathed in smoke and to the sound of erie organ music. The intro was caught on video and has been posted on Bruce's official site. Check it out. The show itself featured one tour premiere: "Kitty" was back for another round in an otherwise fairly standard setlist. Read more

Better late than never! And I'm both talking about Rolling Stone and this alleged news service: Bruce is on the cover of the current issue of Rolling Stone. It's available in the US now, but may not show up in Europe for another little while. I'm not sure about this, but could this be his first cover in over 10 years? I'm also not sure if this says more about Bruce or about Rolling Stone. Anyway, apart from the nice picture of Bruce on the cover, the issue also features an interview with the man. Read part of it here. At least, I assume it's only part of it. Read more

Last night's show in Ottawa not only featured the tour premieres of "Backstreets" and "Tougher Than the Rest". Much to the crowd's delight he was joined by Win Butler and Regine Chassagne of Arcade Fire for three songs: "State Trooper", "Born to Run" and the Arcade Fire hit "Keep the Car Running". Arcade Fire has often been compared to Bruce Springsteen and has allegedly turned a new generation of fans on to Bruce. See videos of what went down last night and the setlist. Read more
