Persistant rumors have Bruce performing at tomorrow night's Grammy Awards show. More specifically, he and Bono of U2 are said to be preparing a duet. The Grammys will take place at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be telecast in the US and other countries. Bruce is not nominated in any categories, so let's see if there's anything to this rumor. You'd better be prepared in any event. Read more

Sony's website in Austria is listing a new Springsteen release scheduled for October 14. No title or other info is provided, and even though this doesn't have to mean anything, it's still a good sign that something is up and that a new album is a very strong possibility for this year. According to New York Times, the campaign to save the old rock'n'roll landmark has made such a big impact with the waterfront owners that they have agreed to build around it. An allegedly good source with a direct connection to an E Street Band member claimed this last week that Bruce and the band had finished recording an album in Atlanta. The material is said to be all new with no studio versions of previously released songs such as "American Skin" and "Land of Hope and Dreams". The source also said that the band was planning to do a few benefit shows in the spring and then embark on a full scale late summer/early fall tour after the album is released. Some of the latest Bruce songs released by other artists include Hank Williams III (grand son of Hank Williams) doing a cover of "Atlantic City" on his latest album Lovesick, Broke & Driftin'. Canadian folk artist Howie Beck has a version of "I Wish I Were Blind" on his new album Maybe I Belong, and finally the reissue of Steve Earle's classic album Guitar Town will include "State Trooper". Not much news is getting out from the ongoing recordings in Atlanta. This week an Atlanta newspaper reported that all rumors of Bruce recording in the city were false. Of course, fans didn't fall for that as Bruce has been seen at the Southern Tracks studio, and later in the week another newspaper confirmed the story. And if that isn't enough, Nils Lofgren himself has now admitted in a radio interview that sessions have been going on, but that it was supposed to be a secret. Well, it ain't a secret anymore, folks. The rumor we posted the other day about Bruce and the E Street Band recording in an Atlanta studio have turned out to indeed be true. Moreover, it has been disclosed that producer Brendan O'Brien is involved in the sessions, which would be the first time since Darkness Bruce has included an "outsider". Brendan O'Brien has produced Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots, which suggests a more hard rocking sound than what we've been used to. The sessions take place in the Southern Tracks Studios in Atlanta with members of the band flying in and out. Read more
