A few weeks ago, Sony in Austria listed a new Springsteen album for October release. Now we hear from a record store in England that they got information the album will be out on August 1. The source is allegedly reliable, but still, at best this is probably only a tentative date. Read more
   

Movie rumor not true

Many entertainment medias reported a few weeks ago that Bruce was supposed to make his second movie appearance in an upcoming independent movie by Tom Sierchio starring Julia Stiles. Now Billboard reports that it's not true. This information comes from Springsteen's organization, so it should be official. Read more
   

Bruce recording in Nashville

According to Backstreets, Bruce and producer Brendan O'Brien went to Nashville on March 13 to work with the Nashville String Machine, a group of session musicians who appear on a host of albums by everyone from Johnny Cash to Megadeth. Only time will show what role they will get on Bruce's upcoming album, if any. Read more

Contrary to the rumors, Bruce did not show up at the Grammys last night. Instead he could be found in Salinas, California, at a party for John Steinbeck who would have turned 100 years. The party took place at Steinbeck's birth place, now a gourmet restaurant. Read more

In an interview on the Today Show, Cher revealed that she wasn't pleased with her own voice. Bruce to do an exclusive benefit concert in April?

According to a post on the Stone Pony London message board, Bruce has offered to do a concert with Patti at the Stone Pony sometime in April. The concert will benefit the Rumson Country Day School where Bruce's kids are pupils. 400 invited people will have to pay $1000 each in order to attend. This is not official and should perhaps be taken with a grain of salt. Read more
   

Clarence says new album will sound "modern"

In an interview on Swedish rock station The Rocket, Clarence had little to say about the recent E Street Band recordings, but did confirm that recordings had taken place. He called the new music "soulful, r&b, rock'n'roll, modern sounding... Bruce Springsteen blended", but he was clearly not allowed to say much. He also talked about his upcoming live album that was recorded at the Stone Pony last year. The interview will be available in on Rocket FM's website within a week or so. Read more

Courtesy atu2.com) A full page ad in the current issue of Billboard magazine promotes the 15th Annual Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Foundation Silver Clef Awards Dinner and Auction. The ad begins with this note: "Bruce Springsteen and Bono invite you to join them in tribute to Frank Barsalona at the...." The event is scheduled for March 11th at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City, and it's hosted by Clear Channel Entertainment. For those attending, black tie is optional. For those wondering who Frank Barsalona is, his Premier Talent agency booked U2 on their first-ever U.S. tour in 1980, and has been a major support to the band since then. Read more
