What kind of news is this, you may ask. Well, rumors have been swirling all days on radio stations and discussion boards that Clarence had a mild heart attack. For those of you wondering, the rumor is absolutely not true. So don't worry. Neither Clarence nor the tour should be in any danger. Read more

Most of the shows on the next leg of the tour have been announced, and tickets to many of them will go on sale on Saturday. As expected the tour will be focused on the South, the West and the North West of the US, but Pensylvania gets another two shows with the February 28 kickoff at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College of all places and one at the Civic Center in Pittsburgh on April 25. In May the tour will continue to Canada (although so far only one show has been announced there, May 3 in Toronto), and finally the band will close with a multiple night stand at Madison Square Garden in New York City in what promises to be the event of the summer. See the list of new shows here and the official press release. Read more

The big day announcing the next leg of the tour is approaching fast. Backstreets believe it will happen on Tuesday, and Jim Koplic of SFX Entertainment said on WPLR FM on Thursday night that he would be able to announce a show in Hartford, CT, in about five days from today. Other new cities added to the list of rumored shows in the spring/summer are Philadelphia (First Union again!), Allentown, PA (Stabler Arena) and Trenton, N.J. (Sovereign Bank Arena). The three last named cities should be taken with a grain of salt though. Read more

As usual Backstreets is first with a preliminary tour itinerary, although they do stress that things could look very different when everything has fallen into place. However, it's not too much to say that the schedule is likely to become reality. According to this information the tour is set to begin in Orlando, Florida, on March 4 and include Texas, the Northwest, the South and possibly a few selected Eastern markets. All this should last through June. You can check out the specifics on Backstreets' own site. Read more

The Rocky Mountain News reported a couple of days ago that Bruce was scheduled to do a two-night stand at the Pepsi Arena in Denver on March 30 and 31 or a single night stand on April 7. According to most of the information we have been able to pick up, the spring leg will be a relatively short one and only include the US and Canada. An announcement with the dates can be expected within a week or two as it looks now. Read more

According to the Melbourne Herald Sun newspaper in Australia, Bruce has promised his Australian promotor to come to Australia to do some shows. But first, he told the promotor, he had to record some new material. Of course, no one can say when a trip Downunder can be expected, but a good guess would be sometime by summer, which, of course, in Australia is winter... (not that it makes much different, us thinks). Read more

One source is telling us that the next US leg of the tour can't be expected to begin until March. According to the source it will begin in Florida and include cities such as Raleigh, N.C., Denver, Co., and Pittsburgh, Pa. In return, Atlanta has allegedly been removed from the schedule because Bruce's people weren't satisfied with the venue in question. Of course, things can still change and this information is totally unconfirmed. Read more

Steve Van Zandt is all over the airwaves and printed press. Yesterday and today he's been doing numerous interviews with various US radio stations (complete listing on his official site), and he's also been pulling a Bruce by appearing in Time and Newsweek simultaneously. No, not on the cover, but in a short interview and in a long article about The Sopranos. And on a side note, his recent album Born Again Savage was bashed in Rolling Stone, but what do they know about music these days? Read more

Bruce seems to be a favorite with the writers of teenage drama series, Dawson's Creek. Last year they used "Sad Eyes" as background music to a breakup scene, and last night "No Surrender" could be heard. Not in Bruce's own version, but performed by one of the characters on acoustic guitar. Read more
