There will be no Bruce show tonight in Philadelphia. The owners of the First Union Spectrum have decided to postpone the show until the 24th. The reason is the hurricane Floyd, which has hit the US East Coast. This is particularly bad news for the Badlands party that came all the way from England for last night and tonight's shows. The Philadelphia stand got off to a fine start last night with a 24-song set, which included both "Backstreets" and "Racing in the Street", the former in the encores. Even more notable was the absence of both "Hungry Heart" and "Bobby Jean". Complete setlist. Read more

For those of you with big walls and nothing to put on them, the Continental Airlines Arena is auctioning off the 30 x 100 foot banner (c. 9 x 30 meters) that was hanging from the Arena during the New Jersey stand. The auction continues till September 23, and all proceeds from the auction will be donated to the World Hunger Year. But you may have to dig well into your pension savings. Last time we checked the bids were at $1,500. Go to the Ebay auction. Read more

Last night's show didn't feature any tour premieres, but "Backstreets" again moved to a new spot, this time to the first encore position. As in the last DC show, "Ramrod" closed the show after "Land of Hope and Dreams". Complete setlist. Read more

Things are almost back to normal setlist-wise. The first of the Detroit shows was a 24-song standard set. The only noteworthy thing (when you only have the setlist to look at) was the 7-song encore. If you were there and this was the greatest show of all time, send us a report! Complete setlist. Read more

Two shows have been added to the tour schedule at the Oakland Arena in Oakland on October 25 and 26. If these sell out it's very likely that two more will be added on the 28th and 29th. Tickets will go on sale on September 19. We've also heard that a show in Milwaukee on November 9 is as good as certain, but this has not been officially confirmed yet. Read more

A few days ago we brought the news of a book called "It Ain't No Sin to Be Glad You're Alive" (see elsewhere on this page). Thanks to Time Warner, we're now able to offer a copy of this book to five lucky people. But "if you wanna play, you gotta pay!" The winners will be found in a random draw among those who send in a review of their favorite Bruce album. The reviews must be at least 400 words and we reserve the right to use the reviews in a new section on Greasy Lake. All contributions must be send to greasylake@greasylake.org before September 30. And in order to make this fair for everybody, they can be in any language you'd like. We'll try to get them translated Read more

Bruce and the band ended the Washington DC stand with a 3-hour plus show full of guests and spontanity. For "Hungry Heart" Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Hornsby, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Bruce's cousin Frankie came on stage and stayed there for an impromptu "Red Headed Woman". Frankie again joined the band for "Ramrod" which was added after "Land of Hope and Dreams". Complete setlist. Read more

In so far "Adam Raised a Cain" and "Trapped" can be called standard, the second show in Washington DC was fairly normal. Unlike the first show there are so far no reports of visits from the White House. The first night had Vice President Al Gore in the VIP seats with his wife Tipper, which made Bruce announce his endorsement of a presidential candidate: "Ladies and gentlemen, he's done drugs, he's had sex, and he's a better saxophone player than some other politicians - do I have to say his name - the Big Man on the saxophone!" Too bad, Al. Maybe next time. Last night's setlist. Read more
