Things were back to normal at the first of three shows at the United Center in Chicago. Only thing of note was the inclusion of "Boom Boom" during "Light of Day". Oh, and "Crush on You" was soundchecked so who knows when we'll get that one? We have this report from David Stagl and the complete setlist. Read more

If somebody two months ago... heck, yesterday! had said that we would get "Incident on 57th Street" and "New York City Serenade" in the same Bruce show, they would have been rushed to the nearest mental institution with the sirens on. Nonetheless that's exactly what happened at the final show in Philadelphia last night. "Incident" opened the show after not having been played since December 1980, and "NYC Serenade" took the spot before "Light of Day". The show also featured "Streets of Philadelphia" (it had to turn up in Philly) and closed with "Raise Your Hand". Another noteworthy thing was the complete absence of songs from Born in the USA and "Hungry Heart". Complete setlist. Read more

Bruce did it again... knocked the socks off everybody in attendance at last night's show at the old Spectrum. No less than four tour premieres and a virtual time travel back to 1973 as both "Growin' Up", "Spirit in the Night", "Does This Bus Stop...", "Blinded by the Light" and... are you sitting down... "THE FEVER" made appearances during the 24 song set. Read the Balloon Man's final report from the Philly stand (unless someone out there has a spare ticket for him for the last show?) and check out the mother of all setlists. Read more

Bruce's 50th birthday was celebrated by fans all over the world. On Greasy Lake people gathered in the chatroom for some serious partying. In fact, on some occassions so many people were on the chatline that the system couldn't handle it. We apologize to those of you who were disconnected on that account, but hope you will be back for more chatting soon. The victims included your very own webmaster.
As for Bruce himself, according to our information, he had a private celebration at a restaurant in his hometown Rumson. No reports yet on whether or not he got on stage to sing a birthday song to himself. Read more

The demand for Springsteen biographies seems boundless these days. Another new book has seen the light of day. This one is called Point Blank by Christopher Sandford. According to a post on the Luckytown Digest, this book could have been called "The Secret Sex Life of Bruce Springsteen" as it has several references to Bruce's relationships and sexual habits throughout the years. The question is if any of this can be trusted. The book is so far only available in a German translation, but will be ready in an English version soon Read more
