Max Weinberg is not only going about his job at NBC these days. He is also busy in his spare time. On September 9th he went to a Brian Wilson concert in Holmdel, NJ. He was spotted backstage with a Beach Boys album under his arm (who knows, maybe he's collecting autographs). A week later he took his kids to see the New Jersey Devils defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins in Pennsylvania sporting a Devils jacket. Read more

Yet another celebration has been added to the list of birthday parties for Bruce, and again it's the Italians who show the way. As time goes and there is still no official word on the upcoming DVD release from the Garden shows, it's getting more and more unlikely that it will be out for Christmas. Several sources have mentioned November 21 as a possible release date, but there will have to be an announcement soon to make that a realistic possibility. But don't worry, the project has definitely not been dropped and Bruce is said to be personally very involved in it (which could explain any delays). As for the DVD release of the Video Anthology, the Digital Bits website, is listing February 5 as a rumored release date of that title. Backstreets reports that it may consist of no less than two DVD with lots of extra material. Read more

On September 23rd the Dutch Bruce Springsteen fanclub is having its annual combination of birthday celebration and convention. Lots of members will come together, for a nice day and celebrate Bruce's birthday with other bruce-fans friends and relatives. There will be several other fanclubs present from many other European countries. The video program will be one of the highlights of the day with lots of footage from the reunion tour. Word from an Australian radio station has it that Bruce is on his way downunder, not to perform, but to attend the Olympic Games. If this is true who knows, maybe he will take the opportunity to check out some possible venues for any upcoming shows or perhaps even announce a tour. Read more

It had to happen. Bruce will be featured in one of MTV's upcoming Celebrity Deathmatches. The show, which consists of animated fights between various celebrities, will probably air on October 3 in the US, and will feature Bruce fighting against Tony Soprano of The Sopranos and with Little Steven as the referee. The One Step Up, Two Step Back tribute album originally released in 1997, is going to be re-released. But this time it will be two single albums, the first of which, One Step Up, should hit the street on September 12. The second album, Two Steps Back, won't see the light of day until early next year. The album contains contributions by artists such as John Hiatt, Nils Lofgren, Joe Grushecky, Marshall Crenshaw and many others. Read more
