This will no doubt go down in history as one of the great Bruce covers like "Trapped" or "Who'll Stop the Rain?". That is, if you can call it a cover. Bruce wrote all the lyrics except first verse, and they are as biting and powerful as ever in their very clear reference to how the whole Katrina situation was (mis)handled by the politicians. Two songs was all the viewers of Good Morning American got during the live broadcast from Asbury Park. "Jacob's Ladder" and "O Mary Don't You Weep". The songs were performed live at the Convention Hall in Asbury Park in front of a live audience of early birds. More songs were no doubt played while Good Morning America was showing commercials and the weather forecast, including "Old Dan Tucker", which is scheduled to be broadcast this weekend. Read more

Last night Bruce world premiered his Seeger Sessions Band at the Convention Hall in Asbury Park for the first of four rehearsal shows before the real tour kicks off on April 30 in New Orleans. The show consisted of 19 songs and lasted slightly over two hours. Naturally, the setlist was dominated by songs that can be found on the Seeger Sessions album, but he also played a few of his own: "Johnny 99", "Adam Raised a Cain", "Devils & Dust", "My City of Ruins", "Open All Night" and "You Can Look". A press release has been issued announcing 19 shows in the US featuring Bruce Springsteen and the Seeger Sessions Band. No Canadian dates have been included, and there's no word on whether the tour will be extended beyond those 19 dates, but our guess would be yes. In return, Des Moines in Iowa will get its first show ever and the first show in Iowa since 1992. Read the press release and see if he comes to your town. Read more

Tickets for no less than four rehearsals shows in Asbury Park will go on sale Saturday at 9 AM through TicketMaster, phone only. The shows will take place at the Convention Hall on April 20, 24, 25 and 26. The tickets will be $100 a piece with a limit of two tickets per person for all shows combined. More details here. Pittsburgh rocker and Bruce friend Joe Grushecky has announced that Bruce will play a pretty big role on his upcoming album. According to his official website Bruce sings and plays lead guitar on four tracks. This is Bruce's biggest involvement in a Grushecky album since he produced American Babylon in 1994. When the album will be released is still unknown, but while you're waiting check out Joe's new double disc compilation of outtakes and demos. Read more

 KSA is the initials for Karsten Stanley Andersen. Karsten was born in 1969 in Denmark and has been a Springsteen fan since 1986, or more than half of his life. As such, he has travelled much of Europe and the United States and seen Springsteen everywhere from Warsaw in Poland to Denver, Colorado. In 1996 he was one of the founders of the Greasy Lake website, which was then called Open All Night, and he has since been the man in charge. His real job is as a librarian at a public library in Denmark. Read more
