We have an unconfirmed setlist from last night, which, to put it mildly, is pretty weird. Opening with "Backstreets" followed by "The Ties That Bind", the show also included the tour premieres of "Trouble River" and "Ramrod". If this is true, things are really shaking up now. The complete setlist as we heard it can be seen here. Read more

It started with a tour premiere, "The Ties That Bind" (not played since the last show of the River Tour). After that all bets were off. Before the night was over the crowd at the 7th New Jersey show had been treated with the reappearances of "Give the Girl a Kiss" (first time since Asbury Park where Bruce vowed never to play it again), "Red Headed Woman" (first time since Dublin) and "Fire" spicing up "Tenth Avenue". No doubt the loose atmosphere owed to the fact that it was Patti Scialfa's birthday. As usual the setlist can be found here. Read more

The third tour premiere during the New Jersey stand appeared last night when "Candy's Room" was aired in the beginning of the show. "Because the Night" made a reappearance after not having been played since Oslo. For the first time in New Jersey, "Freehold" was dropped from the setlist, which you can see in its entirety here. Next show is tomorrow. While we're waiting for that, take a look at some of the accounts we've added from the New Jersey stand so far. More are always welcome. Read more

Big changes have yet to appear in the New Jersey set lists. Last night saw the reappearance of "Racing in the Street", which hasn't been played since Paris, and "She's the One" (first time since London), but apart from that the set was pretty standard. However, the written set list had "Candy's Room" instead of "Working on the Highway" so maybe we'll see that one soon. Speaking of written set lists, one of our readers was kind enough to send us a scan of the first New Jersey show. You can see it here. Read more

"Point Blank" appeared in the set in the spot usually reserved for "The River". And much like "The River" it had a haunting sax/organ intro. Other noteworthy songs in the set list was "Atlantic City" appearing for the first time since Bremen and "You Can Look". You can see the complete set list here. Tonight the band again takes a day off. Maybe to celebrate the birthday of Bruce's oldest kid, Evan, who turns 9 today. Happy birthday! By the way, don't forget to send us reports from the shows you attend! Read more

The biggest surprise of last night's show at the Continental Airlines Arena was the return of "Spirit in the Night" and "Independence Day", none of which has been played since Barcelona. Another surprise was that "Independence Day" appeared as a replacement for "The River". This was the first time "The River" wasn't played on this tour. Attendees at the upcoming shows might expect to hear "Racing in the Street" and "She's the One" since they were on the written set list last night, but weren't played. The show was two songs shorter than the usual 26. Is Bruce already getting tired? Read more

During the encores of the band Phish's show in Holmdel, NJ, Friday night, they introduced New Jersey's greatest song writer. But instead of Bruce Springsteen, a friend of the band, Tom Marshall, appeared on stage wearing a complete Bruce attire including headband. They then went through a cover version of "Born to Run". It was rumored, but didn't happen. The only E Streeter present at Clarence Clemon's show at Tramps in New York City on Saturday night was Steve Van Zandt, who joined the band for one song: "Can I Get a Witness". Without Steve's help, the band played three Bruce-penned songs: "Savin' Up", "Paradice by the 'C'" and "Pink Cadillac". Read more

The second of the 15 shows at the Continental Airline Arena featured a fairly standard set list. No new songs with debuted, but Bruce did find room for both "Trapped" and "Loose Ends". He dedicated "Land of Hope and Dreams" to John F. Kennedy Jr. and his wife who were killed in a plane crash this weekend. Despite the lack of tour premieres, most observes agree that last night's show was a notch better than Thursday's. Read more

July 16: Last night Bruce and the band came, saw, and conquered. In a 3-hour power show in front of an ecstatic home-crowd, they blew the roof off the Continental Airlines Arena and, as they have been doing all over Europe, proved that there is still no better rock 'n' roll act in the world than Bruce and the E Street Band in its strongest lineup. The 26 song set was pretty standard, but did feature the tour premiere of "Freehold" in an acoustic version. Bruce introduced it by thanking the Freehold city council for not embarrassing him by putting up a statue of him. According to rumors, the soundcheck featured "Rosalita" so a good bet would be that it turns up before the NJ stand is over. The whole show could be followed live on NJ Online's homepage. You can still see the pictures and commentaries here. The complete setlist can be found here. Read more
