My third concert with Bruce Springsteen. This time I also brought my mum along with me, as well as my friend. This was a Christmas present from me to her. A little arguement a few hours before the concert, almost put a stop to our plans, but I luckily persuaded her to join, otherwise it would've been a more sour experience.
We were very lucky with the weather. The weather was BEAUTIFUL!
After the argument with my mom, we were a little late and we had to skip our plans to eat dinner before the concert. Luckily, the cues weren't as long as in Bergen, and we were quickly inside the stadium. While we waited, the stadium got filled up pretty quickly, and we could spot people standing on top of buildings and on top of a nearby hill - probably one of the many people who couldn't get a ticket to this long sold-out concert, as demand was pretty high. A few of hot air balloons also passed by.
We found our seats, and waited for about an hour until Bruce & co hit the stage about 7.30 pm. The Promised Land is song opener, this time with the full band. Starts pretty up tempo, with a lot of fast-paced songs, until Something in the Night comes from out of nowhere. I LOVE this song! But it felt somewhat out of place among those other songs played right before and after.
And then it was Drive All Night. Oh my god, words cannot describe this performance! So much heart and soul in it. WHat probbably made this performance so memorable was that the whole stadium lit up with "fireflies" - lights from people's cell phones.
This was a great night, and we were all very happy that we went. Woke up the next day to a piss-poor eather with heavy rain crashing down. I was very sad that I couldn't go see him night#2 (dind't have tickets), but with the miserable weather we had when we left Gothenburg, I thought it wasn't that bad. |
